Grievance Redressal Cell

Grievance Redressal Cell addresses grievances and complaints received from students, faculty and other stakeholders. It provides a platform where students, faculties and staff can point out any grievances regarding the university examinations in the College, Internal examination for every semester, infrastructure, bus facility, hostel facility or any other issues they face in the campus.

The students, faculties and staff may feel free to put up a grievance in writing / online to the Principal.

The grievance cell will act upon once a case is received and try to resolve the grievance at the College level.

The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit. The grievance beyond the College jurisdiction is intimated to the appropriate authority.

Anti Ragging Cell

Ragging is any disorderly conduct whether spoken or written or by an act or gesture which causes discomfort, hurt the sentiments, annoyance, hardship or psychological harm to a student.

“Any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying and exclusion) targeted at another student (fresher or otherwise) on the ground of colour, race, religion,caste, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity,place of birth, place of residence or economic background.”

In UGC Regulations on “Curbing the menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions”, 2009, Ragging is banned by the Supreme Court of India.

Ragging is strictly banned in Our College. If anybody found involved or indulge in such activities, strict measures and action will be taken. To prevent such activities in the campus, an Anti-Ragging Squad and Anti-ragging Committee/Cell have been formed and is operational even before the start of First year classes

Nature Club

The nature club has introduced to generate awareness among students about the current environmental issues. It stands for inculcating among the students the need for conservation and preservation of nature. Nature club teaches students to love their mother nature. The club organises nature study camps, treckings, visits to forests, and conducts various competitions to propagate the messsage among the students.

Objectives

  • To empower and educate students about the importance of environmental conservation and to create awareness about major environmental problems.
  • Implementing small level projects which helps to create interest towards farming activities.
  • Observing environmentally important days.
  • Motivating the students to plant more trees.
  • Educating the students to minimise the usage of plastics.

Women Cell

University Grants Commission (UGC) recommends the measures for ensuring the safety of women and programs for gender sensitization on campuses. According to the task force appointed by UGC, the recommendations include the need for setting up Women’s Development Cell and Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell at colleges and universities.

Women cell aims at empowering and orienting women to recognize their true potential and to help them attain their own stand in a competing world. Its goal is the overall development in all spheres of their life.

Objectives

  • To enhance self esteem and self confidence among women students and staff
  • To foster decision making ability
  • To increase awareness of women related social issues, health, employment and gender related matters
  • To realize role of women in building up of a healthy society
  • Educate, empower and devise preventive measures for the prevention of gender bias and sexual harassment of students
  • To impart knowledge on legal rights of women

  • Organizing special lectures by women achievers and interaction with students

Overview

Associations exist for the purpose of bringing students together, helping them acclimate to life at the college, connecting them to other students, as well as alumni, and help students develop transferable skills.

Association Secretaries are elected during College Union Election, who will be in charge of organizing various programmes under the respective association.
